Sodium lactate is also known as 'Propanoic acid, 2hydroxy, monosodium salt'.
It is derived from sugar extracted from corn and beetroot.
This is 60% sodium lactate, and vegan.
Ideal to harden cold process soap , allowing you to unmould it more easily, and last longer. Also suitable for use in lotions to draw moisture to skin, and for hot process soap, to male it smoother. It is not recommended for melt & pour soap or bath bombs.
Usage Recommendations: In the case of cold and hot process soap, you can add 1 teaspoon per 0.45 kg of oils to cooled lye water. When making skin lotion, add it to the water phase at 0.5 - 4 percent. Because sodium lactate is suspended in water, it will separate if added to oils. Therefore add sodium lactate to water first, before then combining it with oils.
It is not eye safe, so we recommend you wear goggles when formulating.
